The ECCE LUDUS handbook is part of the MOOC course and provides teachers and educators with the skills and knowledge needed to implement innovative teaching methods through edutainment and emerging technologies.
In the handbook you can find the content of all modules, as well as workshops and activities. In case you prefer a printable and book version of the MOOC, we invite you to check out the handbook on our website: https://ecceludus.eu/handbook/
While the first part covers the 6 modules which you can also encounter in the MOOC (https://ecceludus.eu/courses/), the second part includes workshops and interactive exercises and activities that can be implemented to improve teaching practices.
The workshops include activities on the topics of:
- Coding: basics of coding and computational thinking through hands-on creation of interactive projects, using tools such as “Scratch”
- Creating digital escape rooms with tools such as “Genially” which allows for escape rooms on various topics and with a lot of interactivity and quizzes.
- Increasing inclusivity and understanding among peers despite different (and hidden) opinions, cultures, perspectives, etc.
- Hands-on experiments such as the catapult building challenge to enhance student engagement and learning about engineering and forces.
- Innovative and digital storytelling in STEAM education, including hands-on activities and group discussions
All workshop activities include information on duration, complexity, materials needed, digital tools used, and methods and tips for the educator to ensure a successful application of the exercise.
The final part of the handbook further introduces printing templates for the exercises, as well as further resources.
